Anthropic’s AI assistant Claude is gaining significant traction among paying users, signaling that the company is becoming a stronger force in the consumer AI market.
A recent TechCrunch report, based on anonymized consumer transaction data analyzed by Indagari, found that Claude saw record growth in paid subscriptions between January and February. The report suggests that more consumers are not only trying Claude for the first time, but that past users are also returning in higher numbers.
While the dataset does not capture Anthropic’s entire user base, and excludes both free users and enterprise customers, the broader picture is still clear: Claude is building real momentum with consumers who are willing to pay for AI tools.
Claude Is Converting More Users Into Paying Customers
One of the most notable takeaways from the report is the pace of subscriber growth. Anthropic reportedly told TechCrunch that Claude’s paid subscriptions have more than doubled this year.
Most of that growth appears to be coming from users choosing Claude Pro, the company’s $20-per-month subscription plan. That matters because it shows Claude is not only attracting attention, but also successfully converting that attention into recurring consumer revenue.
